Believing and achieving together

How will we measure the progress of your child in school?

  • Your child’s progress is continually monitored by his/ her teachers and the Leadership Team.

  • His / Her progress is reviewed formally every half term in relation to age related expectations in reading, writing and maths and for some children for Personal, Social and Emotional Literacy

  • If your child is in Y1-6 and is not working within Year 1 expectations, your child's progress will be measured using another scale of levels that assess attainment prior to Year 1 expectations called ‘pre key stage standards’.

  • If your child is in Early Years Foundation Stage and is on the SEND register your child's progress will be measured using the 'Early Years SEN Progress grid'  and the 'Early Years Development Journal' documents.
  • At the end of Reception, Key Stage 1 and 2 the school is required to report attainment levels for your child. This is something the government requires all schools to do and the results are published nationally.

  • The progress of children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), is formally reviewed at an Annual Review with all adults involved with the child’s education are invited to attend.
